Motivation

Motivation gets you moving. And when you move, you create energy. It really is that simple — but simple does not mean easy.

The trick is not to wait until you feel motivated before you begin. Motivation very rarely arrives before the action — it comes after. You start, even reluctantly, even a little bit, and the momentum builds. The energy follows the movement, not the other way around.

So what motivates you? Have you actually sat and thought about that? Not what should motivate you, not what motivates other people — but what genuinely gets you out of bed, what makes you want to try, what connects you to a sense of purpose?

This is where journalling becomes a real practical tool. Pick up your pen and write a list — not of tasks, but of what lights you up. What are you moving towards? Write down one small step you can take today, just one. Do it. Tick it. Feel the satisfaction of that. Then do the next one.

Handwriting your motivations and your goals makes them real in a way that a passing thought never does. There is research on this — people who write down their goals are significantly more likely to achieve them. Your handwriting is a commitment to yourself.

Move forward on one thing. Keep going. Your wellbeing grows in that consistency. One thing at a time. Keep moving.
